2017世大運今天進行閉幕式，FISU主席麥斯汀稍早進行致詞，以下為致詞逐字稿全文：

Taipei 2017 Closing Ceremony speech, FISU President
Your excellency Mr Chen Chien-jen,
Dear Mayor of Taipei, Mr Ko Wen-je,
Dear spectators and guests,
Dear friends from the world of university sport,
And most importantly, dear athletes,
Because it is you, the athletes, who have been the
stars of these 12 days of competitions.
It is you who have inspired us with your
performances.
There have been world records. There have been
performances that would have won world
championships this year. There have been exciting
matches between some of the strongest teams in the
world.
Thank you athletes. Thank you for the passion you
have given to Taipei.
And as the athletes prepare to go home, I know that
they will take a part of Taipei with them. I know this
city and these people [gesture to crowd with
sweeping hands] will have a special place in the
hearts for the years to come.
Dear friends, you may remember that at the opening
ceremony, I said the best things are sometimes worth
waiting for. It is six years since FISU awarded the
hosting of this Universiade to Taipei. And after six
years of hard work, Taipei has given many of these
athletes the best moments of their lives.
At every competition, there have been wonderful
crowds. To the spectators of the last days, to the
volunteers of the last days I must say xie xie
You have been gracious. You have been generous.
You have had a great spirit of fair play.
The athletes who are here now go will go on to be
the leaders of tomorrow, I am sure they will remember
the lessons they have learned here. They will have
learnt from the values of sport and also from your
values.
None of this would have been possible without the
amazing support of our friends at the Taipei
Universiade Organising Committee, from the national
federations and from this wonderful city. Please
accept the sincere gratitude of all of us who work in
university sports. Fei chang Gan xie!
As this chapter closes, another one opens. So to our
friends from Napoli, I must say Avanti! Forza Napoli!
And with that, let me hereby declare the Taipei 2017
Sumer Universiade officially closed. Thank you very
much!

親愛的台北市長柯文哲先生，
各位觀眾與貴賓，
各位世界大學運動的朋友，
最重要的，親愛的運動員，
各位運動員是過去十二天的賽事的明星，是各位用你們的表現啟發我們。
其中有人創下世界紀錄，有些世界最強勁的隊伍進行了精彩的對決。
謝謝各位運動員。謝謝你們帶給台北的熱情。
隨著運動員準備要回家，我知道他們會把台北的回憶也帶走。我瞭解這個城市，還有這些人，在未來的日子，會在你們的心中留下特別的位置。
親愛的朋友，或許你們記得在開幕典禮時，我說過最美好的事物值得等待。國際大學運動總會在六年前，將此次世大運的主辦權交給台北。經過六年的努力，台北替許多運動員帶來畢生難忘的回憶。
在每項競賽，都有超棒的觀眾。我在此必須要向過去幾天的觀眾還有志工，說聲 謝謝。
各位親切待人，慷慨協助，也懷有公平競爭的偉大精神。
現場的運動員將為成為未來的領袖，我確信他們會牢記在這裡學到寶貴的一課。他們會從運動的價值與你們的價值當中學習。
倘若沒有台北世大運組委會、來自國家聯盟、與台北市的鼎力支持，就不會有此項盛會。請接受我們來自大學運動領域朋友們的誠摯感謝：非常感謝！
一個篇章的結束，也代表另一個篇章的開始。對來自拿坡里的朋友，我要說：拿坡里加油！
