〔體育中心／綜合報導〕洋基、紅襪美聯分區系列賽進行到第三戰，台灣小將林子偉雖然沒有入選紅襪季後賽首輪名單，但《波士頓環球報》記者史派爾（Alex Speier）今賽前在推特上透露，隨著紅襪季後訓練基地的菜單即將結束，林子偉已在今天離開紅襪位於佛州麥爾茲堡（Fort Myers）的訓練基地，搭機前往紐約洋基球場與球隊會合，以備季後賽陣容臨時出現傷兵，隨時可以替補。
With the instructional league season nearly over, Tzu-Wei Lin left Ft Myers and is back with the Red Sox in Yankee Stadium as a sort of taxi squad member, just in case a need arises with postseason injury.

此外紅襪一壘手莫爾蘭（Mitch Moreland）第二戰在繞壘時拉傷右腿腿筋，今天並不在第三戰紅襪的先發陣容中。改由皮爾斯（Steve Pearce）鎮守一壘。由於第四戰洋基派出左投沙巴西亞先發，紅襪希望左打的莫爾蘭能夠在第五戰再上場（如有第五戰的話）。
