〔體育中心／綜合報導〕勇士以122：121險勝公鹿，成功終止3連敗，而目前球隊陣容還有空缺的他們今出手補強，不過對象仍不是台裔後衛林書豪。據美媒指出，灣區大軍將和前超音速球星「手套」裴頓（Gary Payton）的兒子小裴頓（Gary Payton II）簽下10天短約。

司職後衛的小裴頓擁有卓越的防守能力，大三大四球季就曾連續兩年獲得所屬Pac-12聯盟的「年度最佳防守球員」肯定，不過外線投射能力不佳的他，NBA生涯開始於2016年，當年他在選秀會上名落孫山，先去G聯盟打球，之後輾轉待過公鹿、湖人，上季則是在巫師效力。
上季效力巫師出賽29場，繳出場均3.9分、2.8籃板、1.7助攻和1.1抄截，本季還未獲得NBA球隊青睞拿到合約，之後加入暴龍905隊，而他完美繼承名人堂球星父親裴頓的快手，本季在G聯盟以場均2.54抄截勇冠全聯盟，也拿下最佳防守球員殊榮。
《The Athletic》記者Anthony Slater隨後也在推特透露，小裴頓已經提早進行檢驗，將能開始參加勇士隊的訓練，最快下一場在對上他前東家巫師的比賽就能亮相。
