〔體育中心／綜合報導〕前運動家明星捕手，現任球隊電視評論員佛斯（Ray Fosse）逝世，享壽74歲，運動家球團也於今日宣布這則令人悲痛的消息。
運動家球團發出聲明，表示對此消息感到心碎：「沒有多少人能夠像Ray一樣能成為運動家的象徵，他時時刻刻都在關心這支球隊的球員、教練、同事以及球迷，他就是那樣的典範。」
此外，名人堂鐵捕班奇（Johnny Bench）、天使球星楚奧特（Mike Trout）及前運動家，現任水手終結者杜利托（Sean Doolittle）都在Twitter上表達對Fosse的悼念。

佛斯球員生涯曾入選2次明星賽，也獲得2次金手套獎，更於1973-75賽季間助運動家奪下2座世界大賽冠軍。1986年卸下球員戰袍後便開啟廣播生涯，佛斯的身體狀況鮮為人知，據外媒報導，他已和癌症對抗16年之久，但直到今年8月才因身體狀況無法負荷離開工作崗位。
